The Advantage of Underbed Storage for the Home
Having to work from eight to five is already a form of torture. This is even worsened by the fact that you will go home to find utter disarray at home. Having to clean your home after a day’s work can really put a strain on you especially if your home is not as spacious as you would want it to be. The solution to this clutter would be a good storage system. More especially underbed storage, to solve the problem of lack of space. Most people need additional bedroom storage solutions and underbed storage drawers are the perfect solution because they do not take up extra floor space like pine bedside cabinets do.
Closets usually are already bursting to the seams in most homes. This is why other items at home are left without anywhere else to place, e.g., DVDs, toys, books, etc. No need to worry since underbed storage can help you with this type of need. Instead of having an unsightly living room, you can place many things under your bed, in storage or a box. This method of storing things is usually overlooked. However, this is not only useful, it is also space saving. The space under your bed is not something you can use for anything else that is why it is a good place to keep things.
Underbed storage depends mainly on your budget as well as the type of bed you have. The use of cardboard boxes remains to be the simplest and cheapest way to store things under your bed. This however is not very ideal since it is not too appealing to look at and dust easily gathers on it. You will however be able to save some cash by using boxes. If you are decided to make use of boxes for storage, it is wise to choose the type called “archival box” This is a box that will be attracted to dust and is acid free since such boxes are treated.
Another alternative is the popularly used underbed storage bags. It allows items for storage to have more protection from various elements. These bags come in different materials, e.g., half plastic – half canvas, vacuum sealed, transparent, etc. They allow easier visibility and handiness of the objects you will put inside it. It will even allow for you to find the things you will need a lot easier. Examples of the things that are best stored in underbed storage bags are blankets, comforters and sheets. They are too bulky for the closet leaving less space for anything else.
If your beds at home have only small underbed space, you may use bed risers to allow for bigger space to be able to accommodate underbed storage. Plastic boxes which are most commonly used nowadays are still another alternative for underbed storage. They vary in sizes, colors and even shapes.
The best form of underbed storage, although perhaps also the costliest, would be underbed drawers. They are commonly custom made to fit perfectly to the bed. They are like another bed that you can pull out from under but instead of another bed, you have things stored there. They vary in design and type of wood and are definitely the best looking among all the abovementioned types of underbed storage. There are even types that are made of plastic and wicker. The downside of this type however is that they tend to be shallow, thus giving only limited space for storage compared to the other types. With the variety of underbed storage presented to you, you will no longer have any reason to find clutter all over your home. Simply make the choice that will best fit your requirement.
