Author: I am sure that as you are shopping for a couple of good quality mattress pads, you would find this mattress which was coined as “Memory Foam”. So what is this “memory form mattress”? Will it increase your memory capacity?
Certainly not! Allow me tell you a little more about it.
Memory form is a type of foam that was invented by NASA’s Ames Research Center. The aim of this foam is to shield the aircraft by adding a couple of cushion. Charles A. Yost, the contributing inventor of the foam also called it “temper foam”.
Slowly, this type of foam has received a couple of commercial attention. It was first used in hospitals where they will help patients to recover. Before long, this type of foam been made available to the consumers. You will see the use of memory foams in beds, pillows and also for laptop bags.
What makes this foam special is that it has higher density than other foam mattresses. That is why they could absorb shocks. You may have seen people dropping an egg of this foam and it doesn’t break.
Now let’s talk about Memory Foam Mattress.
I had personally tried such mattresses in the stores. According to the saleperson, there are 2 groups of people when it comes to these mattresses: One will love it and the other will not like it at all.
For me, I like it. However, my spouse doesn’t like it. To me, it’s something that seems to ‘custom’-fit to my body contour. But, one thing about such mattress is that you will find it hard to move yourself when lying down. This is one thing that my wife doesn’t like.
One word of warning: Never put infants on memory foams. The reason is that infants will find it hard to turn their bodies because of the dense property. Leaving your infants on such mattress will increase the risks of death.
